Dr. M. Mohan Babu

Dr. M. Mohan Babu is considered to be an institution himself. His career as an actor and producer is most happening in the annals of Indian film industry. To his credit, Dr. Mohan Babu had acted in 508 movies and produced 47 movies. In recognition of his yeomen service to the filed of Art, the Government of India conferred the coveted honor of “Padma Shri” on him recently. He established Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions at Tirupati, which offer academic learning from school education to highly advanced courses in engineering, technology, pharmacy and nursing with a students strength of more than 10,000. He was the MP (Rajya Sabha) during 1995-2001. A humanist, Dr. Mohan Babu offers 25% free education at his educational institutions to the poorest of poor, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He recently launched a massive awareness campaign to promote the issues of clean water, sanitation and AIDS.

Vishnu Manchu

Vishnu, son of Dr. Mohan Babu, made his debut as a film hero with “Vishnu” (2003) on Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures (SLPP). His entry marked a new beginning in the area of martial arts in Telugu films. Vishnu took his B.Tech from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. He pursued courses in film acting and direction in Los Angeles and got trained in martial arts with Hollywood experts. He established himself as one of the talented young heroes in Telugu film industry. Vishnu is the CEO of Sree Vidyanikethan Educat-ional Trust (SVET). He is also the CEO of “ThinkSmart”, a leading special effects studio in Hyderabad.

Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures (SLPP) – Overview

Dr. M. Mohan Babu, versatile actor and producer, established Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures (SLPP) 1982. The production house is one among the very few in the Indian film industry which have successfully survived the ups and downs in the film industry spanning over a period of 25 years. It has produced 47 movies, most of which were blockbusters. “Pedharayudu” (1995) rewrote the 70-year-old history of South India’s box office with 50 weeks run. It has to its credit the filming of late Dr. NT Rama Rao’s last movie “Major Chandrakanth” in 1993. Some of the smash hits include Pratigna, Assembly Rowdy, Rowdygari Pellam and Alludugaru. Several artistes, directors and technicians of high repute in the industry had worked with SLPP. Rajnikanth and Amrish Puri were among the famous artistes who had worked with SLPP. It is always in the forefront encouraging the young and talented personnel in the industry.
